Luke Littler

Humphries follows Littler into quarterfinals

Following Luke Littler’s hard-fought victory to reach the quarterfinals, several of his most formidable rivals also secured their spots in the final eight on Tuesday. Gian van Veen, a popular pick to lift the trophy at Alexandra Palace, demonstrated his championship potential by outclassing 20-year-old Charlie Manby in a dominant 4-1 performance. While Michael van Gerwen traditionally brings his peak form to the World Championship stage, he was halted by a vintage Gary Anderson. In an extraordinary battle between two multiple-time world champions, Anderson’s consistency proved too much for the Dutchman. Meanwhile, the reigning champion Luke Humphries further cemented his status as a title favorite. After surviving an epic third-round thriller against Gabriel Clemens, Humphries maintained his momentum by clinicaly sweeping aside Kevin Doets to advance.
