Drama and Dominance at Ally Pally

The evening session of the 2025 PDC World Championship on December 28th delivered one of the most thrilling nights of the tournament so far. The spotlight was on world number two Luke Humphries and German favorite Gabriel Clemens.

Despite Clemens setting a new German record at the World Championship with an average of 101.49, Humphries prevailed 4–2 with a 100.14 average and a spectacular 170 checkout.

Michael van Gerwen also secured his place in the next round with a 4–1 victory over German underdog Arno Merk. MVG averaged 99.68, and while Merk managed a brilliant 145 finish, the Dutchman remained in control. In the opening match, Gian van Veen eased past Madars Razma with a 4–1 win, finishing the match in style with a 125 checkout.
